Now, about me

In 1993 I started learning the trade of Interior Decoration and Upholstery in the Kinzig Valley. After my apprenticeship I worked with an experienced Interior Decorator and Master Craftsman. We restored, refurbished, and reconditioned both antique and modern furniture. During this time my passion for the trade grew; it continues to grow till this day. The variety of methods, techniques, and materials used in upholstering and restoring furniture has always offered a rewarding challenge for me.

Furniture is now largely manufactured industrially; it has become disposable. Traditional craftsmanship and quality has become rare. As an upholsterer and restorer I see my role as preserving cultural heritage and beauty. I love seeing the uniqueness and beauty of a piece slowly revealed as I work through the restoration process.
